Spinning reels inherently are not terribly sensitive compared to baitcasters
Beyond problems with line capacity, spin-cast reels generally are very lightweight fishing reels that arent designed or intended for heavy long term use or larger fish

Fishing a lure weedless enables you to fish through heavier cover such as suspended weed or weed beds

I find if I am freshwater fishing Creeks and skinny water , Land based or Kayaking the best rod length to use would be about 66 in a 2-5kg line rating , I have used 7 rods with 2-4kg line rating but they can be a bit tricky when your land based casting around over hanging trees and thick scrub and the last thing you wanna do is turn up to your new spot with your new rod and punch out your first cast and snap your rod tip on a tree that you didnt think was as close as you thought, Believe me .It happens , so stick with a 66 when starting out, If fishing dams a 7 2-4kg is great for making that extra long cast plus you have a lot more water to play the fish so you can afford to lose that extra bit of power you get from the 2-5kg where as when fishing creeks and skinny water you have to be able to stop the fish FAST

Too many years later, I still walk the dog with the Heddon Spook
