although the polish has dried out and shrunken quite a bit

This unit took part in the drop over Normand

Vintage (could not find anything to date it precisely) Bakelite stamp pad from Germany

although that is not terribly distracting

I am not great with dating these but I know they can be quite old

WWI Honor Cross w/ Swords Hindenburg Cross pre-WWII although the polish has driedHonor Cross of the World War 1914 1918 (Das Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914 1918) also known as the Hindenburg Cross or WWI Service Cross. This award was created by Hindenburg in the 1934 to honor veterans of the Great War (the honor cross was still be awarded as late as 1944). This version with the crossed swords, was given to front line veterans that saw combat. In overall good condition. Maker marked Erbe. The ribbon has pinprick holes at the top.
