A trio of red-breasted mergansers spend a few hours swimming around Wildflower Lake diving occasionally looking for a meal of fish before they move northward on their spring migration
I set out to photograph this recent snowfall along Eakin Creek West on this 2nd day of the New Year
and close up subjects like this paper birch tree along with Wildflower Lake behind in black and white which adds a little more mystery and mood to the images
Before reaching the lake

UP IN THE TREE TOPS WILDFLOWERS A trio of red-breasted mergansersAfter photographing the wildflowers, I came upon these three (one off camera) green herons up in this dead peachleaf willow tree along Eakin Creek West at Wildflower Park. They were moving about the branches like they were having a good time but, perhaps they just wanted a height advantage to the creek in hopes of seeing prey below. (516 155)
