Georgian Edmond Halley Intaglio Fob mid-century This is an original VictorianExcellent Georgian seal fob commemorating English astronomer, mathematician, and physicist Edmond Halley. Halley successfully predicted the return, in 1759, of a particularly bright comet which now bears his name. He also mapped and catalogues the southern celestial hemisphere from an observatory he built on Saint Helena, and realised that by tracking Venus as it moved across the sun (a solar transit), he would be able to determine the distances
